WHAT WE BELIEVE
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Our Mission
We welcome into the full life and ministry of our church all those who seek Truth through Christ’s teachings. We recognize the diversity of human nature as a part of God’s universal plan and affirm all families and relationships founded on love, respect, responsibility, and trust.
Our Vision
"We believe there is still more light and truth to break forth from God's holy word." We don’t all believe the same things – and we celebrate that! Each of us is on our own journey of faith, seeking to serve God, and walk in the ways of Jesus Christ through word and deed, as best we can.
Our Values
We are intentionally anti-racist, seeking justice and equality for all people, everywhere. We work to eliminate racism and prejudice in ourselves and to honor and celebrate the different racial identities and backgrounds in our church family, our community, and in the world.

Justice and Equality for All

TRANSFORMING LIVES
We believe that what we do within each ministry flows purposefully out of what we value and love. What sets us apart from most churches? Approximately 90% of our members and associate members contribute their time and talents supporting ministries that are dear to their hearts through volunteering.
The ministry of Church of the Good Shepherd touches lives far beyond what we see on Sunday morning. This year, God's love found expression by transforming lives in many ways. Youth in the Dominican Republic are learning leadership skills, homeless people are sleeping under warm blankets, children are receiving school supplies, hungry families have food, and homeless LGBT+ youth are safe.
One of our Family Promise guests recently said, "We're strangers, and yet you've been so kind to us. This place is changing my heart. For the first time, I'm beginning to believe there are good people in the world."
