The Council of the Church of the Good Shepherd, UCC meets monthly, the staff and the COGS COVID-19 Tasks Force meet as necessary to discuss our response to COVID-19.
Hours: We are working normal hours. You can still email/call the staff.
Erica (in the office): Monday - Friday, 10 AM-2 PM | email@example.com | 505-856-1004.
Sarah (telecommuting): Tuesday-Friday & Sundays 8 AM-4 PM (flexible, based on member needs). Pastor email, firstname.lastname@example.org. Phone 505-850-4052. 30-minute private Zoom calls with Pastor Sarah are available on Thursdays from 10 am - 1 pm. Please schedule time with Erica to be placed on the Zoom call schedule. If you have any needs (food, someone to talk to, medical supplies - anything!) or have resources to offer, please call Erica at 505-856-1004.
Our Care Team is active.
Please contact Carol Jordan at 505-856-6910 with prayer requests and needs. She is communicating regularly with Erica and Sarah, coordinating caregiving.
You can still mail checks and donate online.
Erica is picking up the mail, Val is depositing checks, and George is paying bills. Our address is 7834 Tennyson St. NE. Albuquerque, NM 87113. To give online, text the word "give" to 505-278-5757 or click here to give online.
We're still paying our part-time staff.
The Council came to a consensus: we will keep paying our musicians at their current rate, as they are doing amazing work, learning new technology, and greatly enhance our weekly Zoom worship experience. Please be generous and support our budget so we can sustain our life-giving programs and staff through these times.
Call ahead to make arrangements to enter the building during the week
Until further notice advance notice to enter the building other than during Sunday worship services is required. Please contact Erica to coordinate your visit. Occasional outside church activities may be held at COGS with previous permission. The lower level of the church is OFF LIMITS and continues to house those enrolled in the Family Promise Program.
Church services and groups are meeting online with connections by computer and phone. We are taking social distancing recommendations seriously.

The State of NM health department has a wonderful, up to date website. Anytime you have questions regarding how to be safe and to keep up with the frequent updates, please go to
https://cv.nmhealth.org/ The COGS COVID-19 Task Force will continue to keep up to date with the constantly evolving directives. Decisions about when to re-open our worship space for in-person services will be made specifically for our worshipping community.
Family Promise guests are staying with us.
Imagine being homeless at a time like this and hearing from everyone "I'm sorry, there is no room at the inn..." Thank you to our Council for their extravagant generosity and to Erica and Family Promise for their hard work to develop a plan to keep folks as safe (and distant) as possible.
Families will be using the downstairs portion of the church only. We will not be responsible for staffing volunteers; we are simply sharing our space. If you're interested in volunteering anyway, they can always use our help. Contact Gail Chynoweth to learn more.
God is still speaking.
With the outbreak of COVID-19, many of our habits are changing. In the midst of uncertain times, it's hard to know what lessons we'll take away. What we CAN know for sure is that God is still speaking! God's Spirit is showing up in the generosity of strangers, the hard work of healthcare workers and volunteers, the unexpected connections over phone and internet, and the resilience of our Christian community. Keep listening. God is with us!
